Today’s update to HELLDIVERS 2 focused mainly on balance, but also introduced an element that will significantly diversify gameplay – planetary hazards.

Planetary hazards

There are various planetary hazards on the planets that add variety to the gameplay. Planetary hazards include fier tornadoes and meteor showers. Challenges appear randomly during the game.

Eradicate missions

Eradicate missions have been lengthened by requiring more kills and more frequent appearance of enemies. This will make eradicate missions more challenging than before.


  • Breaker – reduced magazine capacity from 16 to 13, increased recoil from 30 to 55.
  • Railgun – reduced armor penetration in safe mode, reduced damage against durable parts of enemies.
  • Flamethrower – increased damage per second by 50%.
  • Laser cannon – increased damage against durable parts of enemies, increased armor penetration, improved ergonomics.
  • Punisher – increased total ammunition capacity from 40 to 60, increased stopping power, increased damage from 40 per bullet to 45 per bullet.
  • Breaker Spray & Pray – increased armor penetration, increased rate of fire from 300 to 330, increased number of bullets from 12 to 16 per shot, reduced magazine size from 32 to 26.
  • Energy Shield Backpack – increased delay before recharging.
  • 380mm and 120mm Orbital Barrages – increased bombardment duration, reduced spread.

Other fixes

  • Fixed armor values that did not reduce damage as intended.
  • Fixed some outlets that were unnecessarily difficult to destroy.
  • Fixed an anti-aliasing switch that did not work on the PS5.
  • The lighting on all planets was balanced to solve cases where the game was too dark.
  • Improved flashlight efficiency.
  • Increased visibility in sandy rain on Erata Prime.
  • Updated tutorial materials and lighting.
  • Corrected cases where some materials could be blurred if the Lighting graphics setting was set to Low.
  • Fixed timing issues that may have occurred in the main target Extract E-710.
  • The behavior of the button interaction for buttons in bunker points of interest has been changed. Helldiver will automatically let go of the button after holding it for several seconds.
  • Fixed some cases where large items floated if the ground beneath them was destroyed.
  • Helldiver standing next to an intercontinental missile during launch will burn with a chance of burning.
  • Snowballs fixed.
  • Fixed the ability to use grenades after drowning.
  • The camera is no longer locked on the player’s corpse and does not block viewer mode.
  • Helldivers now receive damage from fire, gas, etc., which is generated by other players.
  • The armor no longer stretches when detached.
