Plot
Driven from Norway by endless wars and dwindling resources in the ninth century, Eivor leads a clan of Norsemen across the icy North Sea to the rich but fractured lands of England. There the clan seeks to carve out a new future and a permanent home among the broken kingdoms. As the Vikings begin to settle, they meet fierce resistance from the Saxons, chief among them King Aelfred of Wessex, who denounces the newcomers as heathens and aims to become the sole ruler of a unified, civilized England. Against these odds, Eivor must do whatever it takes to secure the clan's place and keep the promise of Valhalla within reach.
