A gloomy St. Petersburg, February 1917. The nearly 200-year history of the Russian Empire has ended.The Romanov dynasty is no longer in power.
In the aftermath, a civil war ensued, a revolutionary experiment unfolded, resulting in approximately 4 million deaths in combat and over 10 million more succumbing to hunger, deprivation, and disease.
The seven days of February merely served as the trigger for long-accumulated societal tensions.
Could the military have supported the emperor and prevented him from abdicating the throne? And what if, instead of Lenin, another person had emerged as the leading revolutionary?
