The first Systemic War demo presents the basic functionalities of the tactical mode, where we manage individual units. The demo allows you to play through a tutorial and one mission in skirmish mode called Pilica. The mission refers to the Pilica River, which flows through the center of the map. The player’s task is to defend the Polish army against the Russian attack. The player must occupy the appropriate sectors of the map and ultimately drive the enemy out of their bridgehead in Mniszew.

The player has a limited pool of units at their disposal, which includes several infantry units with various weapons, vehicles ranging from light reconnaissance vehicles to basic tanks. The only flying unit available is an attack helicopter.

One advantage is the range of units, which is more realistic than in typical RTS games. To fully exploit the potential of units, it is worth using reconnaissance units.

Another advantage is the models of the units, which look very good and faithfully reproduce the vehicles. The screenshot below shows Polish-made vehicles: the Borsuk infantry fighting vehicle and the Rak self-propelled mortar.

The quality of the models is very high, even too high. One downside is that the details of the models are not visible due to the limited zoom capability. In addition, they stand out against the terrain, which is of significantly lower quality. The terrain textures are of lower quality, and decorative elements such as small tall grass/bushes appear in the middle of the road in some places.

The most OP units in the demo are attack helicopters. You can only deploy 3 of them, but in the later stages of the game, when the enemy has no anti-aircraft units, they are virtually unpunishable. It is also possible to imagine a scenario in which a Polish Mi-24 hovers over the enemy base and destroys Russian tanks with impunity.

The Systemic War demo also featured a few bugs, such as vehicles getting stuck or helicopter wrecks hanging in the air, but it is worth noting that this is only the first demo version, so bugs are normal at this stage.
